We want to make an immediate impact on those communities which would not be able to realize correct classical ballet training without our program. The program will encourage training that prevents injury to students by utilizing the Vaganova Teaching Method &#8211; this system of training is the most thoroughly researched, scientifically based, physiologically correct and effective Ballet Training Program devised, and one whose details must be preserved as a legacy to future generations of Ballet Artists.<\/p>\n<p>It has been five years to the day since we lost my sister Peggy Willis-Aarnio who was an immense force for the education and training of classical ballet teachers Internationally. Peggy\u2019s lifelong dream was for every ballet student to be able to have access to studying and learning classical ballet no matter their financial circumstance. It is with sincere pride that I inform you we are now realizing that dream by establishing:[\/vc_mad_media_holder][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=&#8221;stretch_row_content_no_spaces&#8221;][vc_column][vc_mad_bio_with_image tag_title=&#8221;h3&#8243; image=&#8221;2429&#8243; title=&#8221;Peggy&#8217;s Legacy&#8221; description=&#8221;Dedicated to the preservation of the teaching method founded by the Vaganova School of Classic Dance and lifelong dedication to Teaching Method and Teaching Materials for learning how to teach correctly and prevent injury.&#8221;][vc_mad_tab_element type=&#8221;style-1 vertical&#8221;][vc_mad_single_tab title=&#8221;2018&#8243; icon=&#8221;&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;8cc8c4c7-1b15-1&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p class=\"Standard\">Sheila Willis Kleiman formed the <b>Performing Arts Cultural Exchange<\/b> a 501(c)3 Foundation in 2018 to continue Peggy&#8217;s teaching legacy which provides scholarships in her name called The Peggy Willis Classical Ballet Scholarship Award Program.<\/p>\n<p>Dedicated to the preservation of the teaching method founded by the Vaganova School of Classic Dance and in memory of Peggy Willis-Aarnio for her lifelong dedication to Teaching Method and Teaching Materials for learning how to teach correctly and prevent injury.<br \/>\n~Peggy&#8217;s Legacy[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_mad_single_tab][vc_mad_single_tab title=&#8221;1999&#8243; tab_id=&#8221;1598290842712-6-7&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong>1999 <\/strong>&#8211;<strong>The Willis Conservatory of Classical Ballet<\/strong> elected to expand its areas of interest to take a more direct role in the training of the future generations of Classical Ballet Teachers, as well as students at the Lubbock address and celebrated its <strong>twentieth year anniversary.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_mad_single_tab][vc_mad_single_tab title=&#8221;1992&#8243; tab_id=&#8221;1598290722773-5-9&#8243;][vc_column_text]Peggy Willis-Aarnio received an invitation to complete her advanced level pedagogical studies in Teaching Method at the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vaganova_Academy_of_Russian_Ballet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vaganova Ballet Academy<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Saint_Petersburg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Saint-Petersburg<\/a>, Russia.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_mad_single_tab][vc_mad_single_tab title=&#8221;1988&#8243; icon=&#8221;&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;d5c3fd6c-d03c-0&#8243;][vc_column_text]The Peggy Willis Ballet hosted and performed in the <strong>World Premiere of Valery Panov&#8217;s &#8220;Giselle,&#8221;<\/strong> starring the world-famous <strong>Prima Ballerina, Galina Panova<\/strong>, and featuring a special guest star, <strong>Natalia Krassovska<\/strong> (a former member of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo), as Giselle&#8217;s mother.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_mad_single_tab][vc_mad_single_tab title=&#8221;1987&#8243; tab_id=&#8221;1544100784166-2-0&#8243;][vc_column_text]Company performs at Lubbock Theatres &amp; TTU University, Texas, performed on tour in Texas, New Mexico, Florida, Tennessee, Illinois, as well as on a very special Tour to England in 1987.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_mad_single_tab][vc_mad_single_tab title=&#8221;1983&#8243; tab_id=&#8221;1544100811341-3-7&#8243;][vc_column_text]The Peggy Willis Ballet Company of the Conservatory of Classical Ballet was formed in February, 1983.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_mad_single_tab][vc_mad_single_tab title=&#8221;1982&#8243; tab_id=&#8221;1544100842749-4-9&#8243;][vc_column_text]Peggy Willis-Aarnio choreographed more than 80 original ballets, including <i>Dracula: The Ballet<\/i> which aired on PBS in 1982.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_mad_single_tab][\/vc_mad_tab_element][\/vc_mad_bio_with_image][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=&#8221;stretch_row_content_no_spaces&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1544105452737{background-color: #f9f9f9 !important;}&#8221;][vc_column][vc_mad_vision_with_image tag_title=&#8221;h3&#8243; image=&#8221;2373&#8243; title=&#8221;Our Vision &amp; Mission&#8221; description=&#8221;The Peggy Willis Classical Ballet Scholarship Award Program, in her honor and memory.<br \/>\nWe founded The Performing Arts Exchange to create training programs and provide teaching scholarships to teachers and student scholarships to students across the world.&#8221;][vc_mad_services_list][vc_mad_services_list_item title=&#8221;Scholarships&#8221; link=&#8221;url:http%3A%2F%2Fpaceballet.org%2FPACE2020%2FP3%2Fdonations%2Fpreserve-classical-ballet%2F|title:Scholarships|target:%20_blank|&#8221;]<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/paceballet.org\/PACE2020\/donations\/student-scholarship-fund\/\"><strong>Student Scholarships<\/strong><\/a><\/span> \u200bAs an aspiring student, you can apply for a scholarship to receive classical ballet training that will enable you to become a classical dancer in the elite Vaganova Classical Dance method. You will first fill out the scholarship application and provide a video of your teaching environment.
